10/11/2022 0 Comments Week 8 UpdatesGood morning Ray Warriors and their families!
I hope that everyone enjoyed their 3-day weekend and are ready for another week of school! Hispanic Heritage Month ends this Saturday, October 15th. In Spanish class we've been hard at work researching different Spanish speaking countries these past few weeks. Beginning this week and into the end of October we will be learning about Día de los Muertos and middle school will be creating a Venn Diagram comparing and contrasting Día de los Muertos to Halloween. K-4th grade will be working on different activities related to Día de los Muertos. Below is a message from the Ray School PTO regarding an Encanto movie night tonight at 4:15 PM. I hope that everyone has an amazing week!

As you all know by now, school has be cancelled for Wednesday January 5th, Thursday, January 6th, Friday, January 7th, and Monday, January 10th. I will keep you all as updated as I can on my website here since I do not have access to GoogleClassroom, my school Gmail, or any other service requiring my CPS Google Account. If you and/or your student(s) want to continue with some Spanish in the off time, I put resources on my website in the form of YouTube channels in Spanish, websites to use, and articles to read. If you click on the "Lesson Plans & Presentations" slides then you will see the lesson plans and GoogleSlides presentations for class this week. Students should look at this to get a sense of what we'll be doing in Spanish when we start classes again. If you want to contact me via email, please do so by using my personal email and not my school one. My personal email is [email protected]. I hope that everyone is staying healthy and safe and is doing well during these uncertain times. 9/27/2021 0 Comments Important upcoming dates¡Buenas tardes familias! I look forward to seeing everyone's school spirit! 😁 5/12/2021 0 Comments donorschoose project¡Buenas tardes!
I just started my first DonorsChoose project and I am so excited about it! I have requested Teaching Proficiency Through Reading & Storytelling (TPRS) books to use in my K-8 Spanish classes. These books bring the language to life through fun, engaging, and culturally accurate fictional stories. They use lots of repetition, which is necessary in acquiring a language. My goal is to make my Spanish classes more engaging, comprehensible, and interesting through using these books and the TPRS method. If you use the code "LIFTOFF" at checkout then DonorsChoose will match your donation, and this expires on May 20th. Here is my DonorsChoose link, and every dollar helps, no amount is too small. I appreciate this a lot! https://www.donorschoose.org/project/bringing-spanish-stories-to-life-in-the/5562589/?utm_source=dc&utm_medium=directlink&utm_campaign=teacherhub&utm_term=teacher_7851738&rf=directlink-dc-2021-05-teacherhub-teacher_7851738&challengeid=21744827 For more information about what TPRS is and why it's so effective, please visit the websites below: |
